The Two Blades
It was a cold night in cantha. A lone figure walked about the streets, silently, unaware
that he was being followed. Suddenly six figures fell from the rooftop, all wielding
weapons and glaring at the masked man.
"So Dagger, where's the gold you owe me?" said one of the figures.
"I already paid you for this week Sun." said Dagger with much venom in his
voice.
"Oh, did I forget to mention that you need to pay double now?" Sun replied
while the others laughed.
"What? I can barely make the cut as it is!" said Dagger.
"Well, we wouldn't want an accident, now would we Dagger? Like what happened
to your dearly beloved family" Sun said, laughing cruelly.
Dagger simply glared at the Am Fah boss for a minute, before finally tossing a bag of
gold over to him. "Am Fah scum" he said under his breath as they walked off.
"How am I supposed to get enough gold to pay them each week?" He thought to
himself, when suddenly a single man walked by. Dagger sighed, and shadow stepped over
to the man. "Alright, give me your gold, or I will kill you right here" Dagger
said as evilly as he could.
The man laughed, "You? Kill me? I seriously doubt that, now run along before you
hurt yourself" he said to Dagger, as though speaking to a child.
"Fine, I will just take your gold from your body!" yelled Dagger running at
the figure with daggers drawn. Right before Dagger hit his target, the man pulled out
his own set of daggers, and quickly countered Dagger's attack.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you too badly" taunted the man.
Dagger charged again, filled with rage at the man's taunts. The two
assassin's daggers clashed, as the battle raged on. Neither of them landed a single
hit, until suddenly Dagger slipped up. The man quickly disarmed him and Dagger soon found
himself lying on the ground staring a blade right in the face.
"Do it, I have nothing left to live for" said Dagger.
The man pulled up his blade as though to make the final blow, but suddenly he dropped his
blades and stuck his hand out. "Need help getting up?" said the man.
Dagger eyed him suspiciously for a moment, but finally accepted the friendly help.
"Name's Sithis" said the man.
"Um, my names Dagger" replied Dagger.
"You show a lot of potential for a great assassin, Dagger. Would you like to join me
on my journey?" said Sithis very kindly.
Dagger thought for a moment. "I would love to, but I owe the Am Fah gold, and if I
don't pay them…".
"You're afraid of the Am Fah? They're nothing but a bunch of petty
thieves".
"I can't kill them all on by myself" said Dagger.
"Well it sounds like you need some help then!" replied Sithis with an evil grin,
as the two set out to hunt down some Am Fah.
