Part 2: A Shadow in the Light
Waking up, something tapping me on my shoulder... and a figure standing above me... black as the night and hooded, I shouted a war cry and lunged forward punching the figure square on where the temple should be followed by a loud CRACK! And a slump to the floor something grabbed my arm. "Hyper NOOOO!" shouted Mystery stopping me from landing another successful blow; I looked at the figure... "I think I made a mistake" I said as I realised I was attacking a hooded dervish wearing black, not the black hooded Voice of Grenth "but I thought he the voice of Grenth" I continued Mystery hugged me and said "I know but his name is Arkonox Dorvan, he's a new member to DAD" "How you doing Dorvan?" I asked a groan and a gurgle came back as a reply. "Maybe wait an hour or so you think?" as I said this I noticed the tapping on my shoulder had stopped some time ago, I looked and knew what I would find and I was right: a small cat sat on the floor trying to look innocent "Hi Taby" I greeted the cat as it changed back into a human "Hyper" it replied as it started poking me again "want to visit my pocket again?" I said. Taby stopped when Taby got on anyone's nerves a threat to put her in your pocket was in order (I have no idea why even to this day). "How come Taby and Dorvan weren't here when I came?" I asked "We had to collect firewood" said Taby whilst giving Mystery the evils "she was scared of the splinters". Mystery began to protest when I stopped her and asked "Where's Thorn and Jule? I'm guessing Dagger is out looking for survivors to slaughter... that's if the battles ended?" "Thorns out on guard duty, Jules somewhere and your right about Dagger the battle ended 2 days ago" Mystery replied, "Jules here" came a voice and he stepped out of the shadows.
A few minutes later Thorn came down with Dagger (who was unsurprisingly covered with blood and smiling at the fact). "Tell us what's happened here" said Jule, so I truthfully told them everything. "You see I had to come here otherwise I'd kill more people" I said "He does have a point Juley" said Mystery "I guess.... DAD will help 'cleanse' you but there's one problem". "What's that" I said wanting to know the problem, "well the shrines not here... we own one but Uncle deemed it sensible to keep it away from here it's... you've seen the maps of the north correct?" We all nodded "Well you notice that island to the far north-west similar in colour to the ring of fire chain islands?" We nodded again "Well it's there but even so we still need to activate it, which means going to every civilised culture in the world and retrieving a relic from them" he said "Easy enough" I replied "BUUUUUUT when we get to Tyria... we still must collect those relics but also take a dangerous trek across all of it" I pulled a face rather like this >_> "But DAD will help you every step of the way and we will do anything to help you". A groan from the side of the room emerge and everyone turned round to see Dorvan stand up and say "What happened?!" "A demonic monkey knocked you out for no reason" said Thorn as a joke, but Dorvan took it seriously "That evil monkey... DIE!" He picked up his scythe and ran off.
"You think that means yes?" I said "well we need every member we can get" said Jule "I presume that's Dorvan language for yes"
